The S.M.A.R.T. Program
S.M.A.R.T. stands for - School Management and Resource Team
Our mission - is to get Parents to play an active role in the success of our Program; allowing Montessori Time School to maintain and continue giving an enriching environment and education to the children. (Studies show that parents who are involved in their children’s education have students with greater success.)
The S.M.A.R.T. Program objectives - are to improve communication from school, to child, to parent. This is done by parents supporting the learning environment, staff, and students through maintenance of the school and its grounds, along with providing support for school trips and outings, and other special events.
Focus for 2011 – 2012 school year - is the maintenance of school grounds. This involves fund raising and collecting donations to purchase new play equipment and upkeep of the existing equipment, along with moving the main Montessori Time School sign forward.
Parent Volunteer Events:
Parent Education Meetings
*Attend Parent Ed Nights to learn about the Montessori approach and materials.
Field Trips
*By taking digital photos and giving Miss Rita a CD of the pictures, as well as placing them on Facebook.
Fall – School Maintenance
*Pressure washing sidewalks, building, and play equipment
*Vegetation- weeding, pruning, planting, and gardening.
*Help refresh classroom material; touch up paint, sewing items, etc.
Inside the Classroom
*Provide a talk on your occupation.
*Help in the classroom when a teacher is sick.
*Assist teacher with classroom activities. (Ex. Help with making gingerbread houses, applesauce, etc.)
*Provide a talk about culturally related subjects.
Attend the Meet and greet Social's
*Adults only, no children please.
Popcorn Social
*This is a Family event
